Toasted sandwiches the new serial for the Chef’s Handyman recipe blog!
Toasted cheese and ham sandwiches are well known. A variety of new fillings will give a new twist. The sandwiches are made in no time. They are perfect as little snack in between school and sports or as little lunch. Not many ingredients are needed.
Chef’s Handyman cooking recipe for 4 persons: Toasted focaccia bread with minced meat!
For the filling: Chop onion. Heat olive oil in frying pan. Add onions and thyme. Glaze onions. Add minced meat. Season the meat with salt and pepper. Add 1 tbsp. of tomato puree. Simmer meat for 10-15 minutes or cooked through.
Cut focaccia in squares. Sandwich the bread with the filling. Toast in sandwich toaster until crisp.
Serve toasted focaccia bread with salad.
Shopping list for 4 persons:
Bread: 500g or 16 Oz. focaccia or toast bread
Meat: 250 g or 8 Oz. minced meat (beef)
Herbs: 1 bunch thyme
Puree: 1 tbsp. tomato puree
Vegetables: 1 onion
Spices: Salt, black pepper, paprika
Oil: 2 tbsp. olive oil
