The burst of flavors! Jeera slices with feta cheese and lavender, Chef’s Handyman tip for the recipe blog!
Sweet and spicy tastes will accompany this Chef’s Handyman cooking recipe in the recipe blog. Lavender and feta cheese sandwiched with jeera slices, topped with honey. This dish can be served as starter or as dessert. The jeera slices can be prepared in advance. They will taste better the day after. The Chef’s Handyman dessert for 4 persons, jeera slices with feta cheese and lavender:
For the dough, beat butter (room temperature), egg and sugar together until creamy. Fold in jeera seeds and a pinch of salt. Add flour and baking powder. Mix well. Form two rolls. Wrap into plastic wrap. Cool in fridge for 30-45 minutes.
Roll dough out, approx. 3 mm or 0.1 inch.
Prepare baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it. Bake at 190°C for 375°F for 10-12 minutes or until golden. When cookies still stick together, cut again. Cool on wire rack.
To make filling, combine feta cheese with lavender. Place one piece of cookie on plate. Apply feta cheese on top. Pile with other cookie. Apply feta cheese again. Sprinkle with honey.

Dairy Products: 7 Oz Greek feta cheese, 6.5 Oz butter
Flour: 10 Oz bleached flour
Eggs: 1 x egg (s)
Baking Ingredients: 1 tbsp. baking powder, 3.5 Oz sugar, 3 tbsp. acacia honey
Spices: 1 pinch salt, 2 tbsp. cumin, jeera, 1 tbsp. lavender
