Two new vegetarian recipes for the Chef’s Handyman recipe blog!

Chef's Handyman recipe-blogAlso vegetarian sandwiches can be varied and delicious in taste. The filling should not always contain meet. Fruity fillings and fillings with herbs will give the perfect flavor experience.

What about beetroot? Why do Australians love beetroot? When I was there on vacation each meal did contain beetroot. Beetroot for breakfast, beetroot for lunch and for dinner as well! Until today I did not get the point why. It will be highly appreciated if one of the Australian blog readers may give me an answer on that topic.

Actually I love beetroot as well. So I have combined them with orange. What about curry , apples and fennel?

Chef’s Handyman cooking recipe: Australian Turbo for 4 persons:

Dark bread is perfect for these sandwiches. Peel beetroot and cut in thin slices. Peel orange and cut in thin slices as well. Combine cream cheese with thyme and black pepper.

Cut rolls in half. Cover with beetroot slices. Then add cream cheese. Apply on the top orange slices. Close top with other half of bread.

Chef’s Handyman tip: If possible, use dark bread for this sandwich. Beetroot should be cooked through.

Shopping list for 4 persons:
Bread: 4 rolls
Dairy Products: 5 Oz. cream cheese
Herbs: 1 bunch thyme
Vegetables: 2 beetroots
Fruits: 2 oranges
Spices: 1 tsp. of black pepper

Chef’s Handyman cooking recipe: Vegetarian sandwiches with curry and fruits for 4 persons:

Chef's Handyman recipe blogCut roll in half. Cut fennel an dapple in waver thin stripes. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Heat olive oil in frying pan. Add 1 tbsp. of curry paste and fennel stripes. Simmer for 3 minutes. Remove pan from heat. Add 2 tbsp. of yoghurt. Mix all ingredients. Season the fennel curry mix to taste with salt and black pepper.

Spread bread with cream cheese. Add fennel curry on top then add apple slices. Close roll with other half of bread.

Shopping list for 4 persons:
Bread: 4 rolls
Dairy Products: 7 Oz. cream cheese, 2 tbsp. yoghurt
Fruits: 1-2 apples
Vegetables: 1 fennel
Spices: Salt, black pepper, 1 tbsp. curry paste
Oil: 2 tbsp. olive oil
