In Japan you will find many surprises. Chocolate coated strawberries are just one of them. These sweets are easy to make and an acceptable gift for friends. The crispy texture and the delicious taste is a great combination. The Chef’s Handyman team was so delighted to share the recipe.
Chocolate coated freeze-dried strawberries
For the strawberries, melt the chocolate drops in a bain-marie. Coat the berries with the chocolate couverture. Garnish with chopped strawberry flakes. Allow the sweets to dry on the wire-rack until dry.
Chef’s Handyman tip: Other freeze-dried berries, like raspberries, can be used as well. To garnish the sweets, chop some berries.
Shopping list for 20-25 chocolate coated freeze-dried strawberries: 2 packages of freeze-dried strawberries approx.. 30 g. 2 packages chocolate couverture approx. 240 g or 8.5 oz.
