The idea behind Chef's Handyman was an electronic series of recipe cookbooks. The great demand of printed books was so resounding, that we have decided to publish an edition of the Chef's Handyman cookbook series. Unfortunately the printed editions are only available in German.

Chef's Handyman: Snacks! Leichte Sommerküche
The book contains a selection of recipes from all published mobile cookbooks as well as some new recipes. The wide variety of recipes made the final decision not that easy, but eventually all our favorite dishes have been included in the new cookbook by Chef's Handyman. We focused on light meals especially for summer. Enjoy the light summer meals during a picnic on the country side or in the garden together with friends.

Spicy Leek Pear Cake
Cut leek in small pieces. Heat olive oil in frying pan. Add leek, chili flakes, salt and black pepper. Reduce heat. Simmer leek for 10 minutes. Cool vegetable.

Peel pear. Remove core. Cut pear in pieces. Melt Butter in a sauce pan. Add pear pieces, honey and black pepper. Simmer pears on low heat for 3 minutes.

Place leek and pears in a bowl. Add 4 oz of grated hazelnuts, 2 eggs and 5 tbsp. cream. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.

Prepare backing sheet (diameter 32 cm or 12 inches) with parchment paper. Add puff pastry. Fill mixture on top of pastry. Add rolled smoked ham on top of mixture. Bake in oven at 220°C or 425°F for 20-30 minutes or until golden and crisp.
Serve spicy leek pear cake with garden salad.
