Chef’s Handyman Salad from the own Garden

The Chef’s Handyman team liked the idea of harvesting the own salad from the garden and preparing the starter in the outdoor kitchen without any traffic or airplane involvement, like a self-sustaining operating mini farmer.

The motto of the Giardina 2015 garden show in Zurich was the nature around the garden. Planting in different containers is very convenient, when the space is limited.

Containers should not only be planted with flowers also salads, vegetables, berries or herbs do have a special charm. A huge advantage is of course, the edible aspect. Harvesting the own vegetables or berries from the garden is a highlight not only for gardeners, also your guests will be delighted.
The trend of this year is definitely the outdoor kitchen, with a fire place and a cooking stove, water and surface to prepare the food.

There are different models for small and bigger places.

Raised flower and vegetable beds or containers are very popular. They are convenient to plant flowers, vegetables or herbs. There won’t be a need to bend down, so the back will be treated with care.

They showed also solutions for small gardens or small patios. Containers are made of textile and can be folded when out of use. So there won’t be much space needed during the winter season.
