If someone had told us that he had almost 50 kg and more kiwis hanging from the trees, I would have considered this an exaggeration. Yesterday I really saw the yield for the first time when we harvested hundreds of kiwis. Mind you, this is in the canton of Zurich, not somewhere in China, New Zealand, Italy or somewhere where you suspect kiwis.
Kiwis at its best
It all started with a garden design with a climbing plant in the garden. I smiled when my sister-in-law mentioned that a kiwifruit had grown. Next year there were three, then seven. Until today, meanwhile approx. 15 years have passed and there are hundreds of kiwis on the trees. Although the kiwi shrub has been cut back several times.
Unfortunately the fruits are not yet ripe and must be stored. In the meantime I will come up with some kiwi recipes, so that I will be prepared. The fruits all ripen at the same time. Who knows good recipes, is very welcome.
The Chef’s Handyman team wishes you a nice Sunday.
