Homemade spreads beat every jam from the stores. Why not starting the day spoon by spoon with refreshing or spicy flavors? Our Sunday specials are plums with cranberries and a dash of cinnamon or the refreshing taste of mangoes with lemons. Which is your favorite one?
Plums with cranberries and spices
To make the spread, cut 100 g or 3.5 oz. of dried and pitted plums into pieces. Add 5 tbsp. of orange juice and 1 tsp. of cinnamon. Simmer the plums on medium head with the lid on. When soft, remove the pan and cool the plums.
For the cranberries, place 100 g or 3.5. oz. into a pan. Add 1 tsp. of vanilla sugar, lemon rind, ginger and 3 tbsp. of preserving. Simmer on medium heat for some minutes. Combine the cranberries with the plums and blend them with a hand blender.

Mango lemon spread
For the spread, cut the mango into pieces. Place them into a pan. Add lemon rind, lemon juice and 4-5 tbsp. of preserving sugar. Cook the mango on medium heat for 5-6 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat. Blend all ingredients and cool the spread.
Chef’s Handyman tip: Serve the mango lemon spread with yogurt or soy yogurt.
