Vibrant London
No other city is so vibrant like London. Each time I’m there, new buildings or areas can be discovered. The skyline with all the shapes of skyscrapers is awesome. Many high-rise buildings do have gardens or restaurants under the roofs. The view from there is beyond words. I could also see a trend in planting greenery on the face of buildings. London is boosting into a foodie city. The City Social with striking menus also from the vegetarian side or the Dorchester, well-known with their traditional afternoon teas or the Sky Lounge bar with the spectacular view to the Tower Bridge. A reason more to visit London soon as possible! Impressions from the Chef’s Handyman’s journey abroad!
City Social, London
The City Social restaurant is located in the skyscraper tower 42. The view from there is spectacular. The menu card is very surprising. Each dish is awe-inspiring presented. The creative combinations of herbs, vegetables and fruits are eye-candies, starting from the savory dishes to the desserts. I never had a dessert combination with beetroots and oranges before. The taste of that combo never can be topped again. It’s a daring venture with a spectacular end. The extra chair for the ladies’ bag is very obliging so are the extra dressing tables in the restrooms.
The Dorchester, London
The Dorchester is located in Mayfair. Their afternoon teas are very well known and will be served with perfection. The wide selection of teas is awesome. The sandwiches and pastries are highlights and leave nothing left to be desired. An afternoon tea should be planned and will take time to enjoy all the dishes, teas and especially the ambience. It’s a must for all London lovers.
Sky Lounge, London
The Sky Lounge bar at the rooftop of the double tree hotel London is unbeatable; especially during the summer time. Sometimes the music is accompanied by a live saxophonist. What about a nightcap in the sky?
Jazz@Pizzaexpress, London
Jazz@pizzaexpress is a jazz club located in Soho in the basement of a pizza restaurant. A good advice will be to book tickets in advance otherwise the respective day will be sold out. The location doesn’t have many tables. It’s a great place and there will be also time to talk to the musicians.
Shoreditch, London
Shoreditch is a new area to be discovered. Small coffee shops or restaurants with street food and restaurants with high rated scores can be found there. The area reminds me at the early days of Camden Town.
See you in London! Have a great weekend yours, Chef’s Handyman Team.
