Il Tartufo or the Sala of Tokyo?

Il Tartufo is an Italian Restaurant located in the business area of Zurich. Unfortunately it might be a fact that this area is lifeless after the business hours. Nevertheless the restaurant is cozy, bright and not crowded. Actually, until the coffee has been served, we were the only guests there. The dishes on the menu are mouth-watering. The main dish with the Périgord truffle was delicious and so was the starter with the eggplants. As I’m a Périgord truffle lover I would recommend the restaurant especially during the truffle season.

The Sala of Tokyo was the first Japanese restaurant in Switzerland. It has a tradition. Unfortunately the house, where the restaurant is located, will be renewed within the next two years. I’m sure the reopening in the new building or somewhere else will be great, but the interior might not have the same charm anymore. I like the old fashioned style with the wooden walls. The food is just great. They serve not only sushi they have other traditional Japanese food as well. Make sure, that you will still catch a breeze of the old design style.

The Chef’s Handyman team likes both of them, favorites the Sala of Tokyo.  Both restaurants are on the pricy side.
